At Quality Health, we specialize in Family Medicine and Urgent Care. We provide patients with ongoing comprehensive personal primary care, in addition to treating patients who are experiencing medical emergencies that are not life–threatening. Our goal is to help our patients achieve the highest degree of physical and mental well-being possible, by providing up-to-date, safe and cost-effective care in a manner that is respectful and responsive to each individual’s needs and preferences.

Family Medicine

At the core of Family Medicine, and what sets it apart from other medical specialties, is an emphasis on the development of the patient-physician relationship. A doctor who is engaged in Family Medicine is a generalist who provides continuous, comprehensive care to patients in the context of the family and the community. A Family Medicine doctor is capable of treating a wide variety of patients, regardless of age or sex, and is capable of addressing an assortment of various health needs.
Family Medicine also differs from other medical specialties in its emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion and it’s ability to address not only physical, but also behavioral and social issues. A family physician is usually a patient’s first point-of-contact and, when required, helps coordinate the patient’s treatment in other parts of the health system; this ensures that the patient’s care is less fragmented and more likely to be effective.

Urgent Care

Urgent care is defined as the provision of ambulatory medical care on a walk-in basis without a scheduled appointment. Urgent care clinics offer services beyond those generally available in primary care offices (e.g. the execution of minor procedures such as the repair of mild-to-moderate lacerations). Coming to an urgent care facility when your regular physician is unable to offer a timely appointment or when illness strikes outside of regular office hours is generally a much more convenient, and less expensive, option than sitting for hours in the emergency room waiting to be seen. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), patient visits to hospital emergency rooms currently average 3.2 hours; many of the problems treated in emergency departments can receive timely treatment in less than one hour in urgent care centers.

Dr. July Gaysynsky is a board-certified Family Practice physician with over 25 years of experience in intensive care, urgent care and family medicine. Dr. Gaysynsky’s work and international training have furnished him with a unique perspective on medicine and an expertise few other physicians can claim. Dr. Gaysynsky graduated medical school and completed his residency training in Russia, where he also worked as an attending physician in the ICU of the city hospital. Later, Dr. Gaysynsky worked in Israel at Tel-ha-Shomer Hospital in Tel Aviv and in the Zriphin military hospital. After moving to the United States, Dr. Gaysynsky completed the Family Practice residency program at NSUH Glen Cove hospital where he was selected to be Chief resident. Before opening his own practice, Dr. Gaysynsky served as the attending physician at urgent care clinics in Bayside and Manhattan, where he gained invaluable experience in treating a diverse group of patients. In addition to running his practice, Dr. Gaysynsky also remains actively involved with several professional organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
